An exquisite French Victorian jabot pin in solid 18k gold cc.1880-1890, conceived as a miniature sword with its original tapering scabbard guard and a short safety chain. The hilt is silver-topped on gold and set with a ruby at center, a green tourmaline panel, diamonds and seed pearls.

Condition is excellent for age, with crisp detail to the hilt, lively rose-cut sparkle and an intact chain. Light, normal antique wear to the gold.

The gold components bear the French eagle-head hallmark for 18k. Diamond settings are silver-topped in the late-19th-century manner.
