This stunning 18K gold ring dates to around the 1850s and features a delicate white enamel flower miniature painting you can wear.

Made in France in 1850s (has the horse's head hallmark which was in use from about 1838)  the craftsmanship is beautifully refined, with a crisp enamel motif at the center and a gracefully balanced silhouette.

The raised head of the ring was crafted using a traditional 19th-century goldsmithing technique likely either repoussé or die-stamping, both common in mid-1800s French  jewelry. In both methods, a thin sheet of gold was carefully formed to create ornate, dimensional designs either shaped by hand from the back (repoussé), or pressed into molds (die-stamping). This method allowed jewelers to craft detailed, visually bold pieces with minimal gold weight ideal for the sentimental, symbolic rings of the 1850s.

The shank is thin, approximately 0.30 mm, which was a typical design choice for this period.

The ring is in very good condition and the floral motif is still remarkably intact for its age.

Whether worn as  a sentimental keepsake, or part of an antique collection, this piece carries nearly two centuries of history and holds up beautifully. An authentic piece of history, crafted with artistry and meaning, and ready to be cherished for generations to come.
